Solon Pursues Larger Firehouse Amid Fundraising Push
The Solon Tri Township Fire Department aims to build a new firehouse on the south edge of Solon next to Dairy Queen. About $200,000 has been raised toward a $4.2 million goal, with in kind work possible and plans to sell the old North Iowa Street station. If $2 million is reached, construction could start, improving space for 35 volunteers serving 112 square miles including Big Grove and Newport townships.
