Salvation Army lags in Cedar Rapids Red Kettle drive
The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids trails its $805,000 goal with only two days left before Christmas. As of Thursday, it had raised $518,154, 65 percent of target, $40,000 behind last year. Bell ringers collect until 4 p.m. Saturday and donations close at year end. Weather and changing shopping habits cited as reasons for weaker kettle totals.
