Edith Orcutt 90 former Earlville and Delhi resident dies
Edith Orcutt 90 formerly of Earlville and Delhi died Sunday December 20 2009 at St Luke s Hospital Cedar Rapids after a short illness Memorials are being arranged with Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home Earlville A memorial service will be planned for a later date She was born August 19 1919 in Belvidere SD to Auta E and Bertha Shepherd She lived on a ranch near Belvidere until age 10 then moved to Delhi where she graduated Delhi High School in 1937 She married Raymond S Orcutt on August 11 1940 in Delhi They farmed near Delhi then Manchester and later moved to a farm south of Earlville in 1959 and worked for Earlville Oil Company until retirement In 1993 she moved to Manchester after her husband Ray died in 1990 She is survived by two daughters Letha Newlin Palatine IL and Leah Hedrick Marietta GA four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
