Fire blast kills one firefighter in Hammond warehouse blaze
In sub zero weather a chemical fuelled fire raged through a one story warehouse owned by Illiana Storage Co in Hammond Indiana. Firefighters fought for over six hours and 25 were treated with nine hospitalized in fair condition. Firefighter Francis Volk 32 died from a skull fracture and photographer Richard Wylie of the Chicago Sun Times sustained severe head injuries.
