Davenport AP report says James McElliott 53 of Ryan was fined $800 total in Scott County district court after pleading guilty to two counts of false pretenses tied to appliance purchases from Davenport firms. Restitution was paid. arraignment and district court pleas followed. McElliott, secretary treasurer of the Iowa Fire Chiefs Association and local official, runs McElliott Gas and Appliance in Ryan.
