Mindfulness may boost winter activity says ISU professor
ISU kinesiology expert Jacob Meyer finds mindfulness meditation helps people stay active through shorter days and colder temps. In a 2016 Wisconsin study, mindfulness matched traditional exercise in maintaining activity and outpaced a normal life control group. Researchers note mindfulness could supplement activity plans and aid daily decisions like walking to the office. The study involved 49 adults aged 30 to 69 in three groups: control, exercise, and mindfulness.
