Ombudsman Finds Fault With Leader at Iowa Veterans Home
A state ombudsman inquiry into the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown found that former Commandant David Worley had strained relations with staff and residents, yet his management did not directly harm resident health or safety. The report notes complaints stemmed from demeanor and management changes, and it did not cover sexual harassment or hostile behavior due to limited authority. Worley resigned in 2013 after three controversial years. Jodi Tymeson succeeded him in 2013.
