Charity Change Ahead for 130-member Sheriff Deputies Group
Elam seeks reforms to improve efficiency of the 130-member association that handles telephone fund raising for Sheriff’s deputies. In the year ending Aug 31 2004 the group raised 160353 with 14350 for charity and 40088 to contractor Ron Ver Steegh. Remaining funds covered overhead such as commissions rent and promotion. Ver Steegh defends the arrangement noting deputies lack time to fundraise.
