Council on Aging trims staff amid United Way cutbacks
The Linn County Council on Aging cuts one rural outreach position as United Way funds shrink by 7 percent. Bessie Loeck and Clark Boe are laid off December 1, with volunteers and remaining staff absorbing duties. The 1982 budget is balanced by ending the joint newsletter, reducing work months, and giving staff only a 2 percent raise.
