Inmate Dies In Acid Vat At Iowa Reform School
An Iowa Men's Reformatory inmate fell into a two and a half foot vat of acid and died later in a burn unit. A fellow inmate who pulled him out, Glen Keller, 19, was hospitalized with arm burns. Paul Heeren, 21, of Cromwell, died at University Hospitals Iowa City after transfer from Anamosa.
