Chicken farmers sue over killed Obama rule impact
Small poultry growers sue the USDA arguing the withdrawal of the Obama era antitrust rule was unlawful. The rule would have let independent farmers sue big meat companies for harm to themselves, not the entire market, and supporters say it would boost competition. The suit, filed December 14 in the St. Louis Court of Appeals, names Democracy Forward as counsel.
