Government notes say the flood damaged former Quality Chef site on Third Street SE in New Bohemia remains largely uncleared. City state and federal representatives will walk through the plant if safe to assess damage and determine if further environmental work is needed, with no February report expected.
The Hiawatha City Council identified an Interstate 380 Tower Terrace Road interchange and extending Edgewood Road plus planning a new library as top goals. Annexation studies and upgrading North Center Point Road also rank highly amid plans discussed with City Administrator Gary Rogers and IA Public Affairs adviser Jeff Schott.
