A large study of over 7 million people shows white U S military members with high vitamin D blood levels had 62 percent lower MS risk than those with low levels. Blacks and Hispanics showed no link. Researchers caution this is not proof of causation and pills cannot yet be recommended.

Man who killed trooper gets life without parole
Ralph Bucky Phillips, 44, who admitted killing Trooper Joseph Longo and wounding two others during New York’s largest manhunt, was sentenced in Chautauqua County Court to life in prison without parole.
