Storefront Clinics Planned For the Poor in Brooklyn
A Brooklyn plan envisions two story storefront clinics as part of a $60 million medical complex offering basic diagnostic care and social services to poverty pockets. Dr. John J. Butler says the first clinic opens in February and aims to remove cost and access barriers while addressing social factors behind illness. The program, tied to OEO poverty projects, seeks to extend medical care to residents with limited funds and dignity preserved.
