Paroled convict admits Whittemore bank holdup
Lloyd D. Mussulman a 29 year old paroled convict confessed to the attempted robbery of the Whittemore Farmers State Bank last Thursday. He was arrested Saturday night at Elmore Minnesota while farming. Mussulman had earlier robbed a Goodell Iowa bank of 2287 eight years ago and was sentenced to life, later commuted to 20 years and then paroled. He is held in Kossuth county jail and will be arraigned at Mason City. The holdup was thwarted by banker’s daughter Annette Bestenichner who fired a pistol from behind a bullet proof cage. Mussulman was identified from witnesses descriptions.
