Reagan tilts toward faster decontrol and tax cuts
Reagan backed accelerated lifting of price controls and supported a tax concession as a bargain for speedier decontrol. He criticized Israel over the Golan Heights, vowed no delay to tax cuts, and warned against relaxing security amid Libyan assassination threats. He favored quicker natural gas price decontrol but cautioned limits. Some fired air traffic controllers may win appeals and return to work.
