Cournoyer Named Iowa's New Lieutenant Governor

Gov. Kim Reynolds named Chris Cournoyer as Iowa's 48th lieutenant governor. A Republican from Le Claire, she was sworn in at the Capitol, replacing Adam Gregg who resigned to lead the Iowa Bankers Association. Cournoyer and Reynolds become Iowa's first all female governor and lieutenant governor leadership duo.

Justices side with former ISU professor in wage suit

The Iowa Supreme Court reversed a Polk County ruling on wage discrimination, allowing ISU professor emeritus Silvia Cianzio to seek damages beyond a two year limit. The court said the remedies statute is unambiguous and permits recovery for the period of discrimination, not limited to prior filing windows. Marion deploys molasses salt mix to melt ice this winter

Marion unveils a new ice melting blend called Magic-0 from Skyline Salt Solutions using molasses and calcium chloride to make salt stick to pavement at colder temps.
