Two-Vehicle Crash Kills Bedford Iowa Man and Kansas Driver
A Friday dawn crash on a snow covered U S 81 overpass near Fairmont Nebraska killed Cheryl Lawrie 18 of Wichita Kansas and Robert Scott 46 of Bedford Iowa. Scott was driving a Werner Enterprises tractor trailer loaded with water pipes while Lawrie drove a northbound pickup. Both vehicles veered through a guardrail and plunged off the overpass. Police said the accident occurred about 1 45 a m and remains under investigation by Fillmore County authorities.
