Design flaw prompts remodeling at new Iowa City library
Iowa City faces a design flaw in the new public library that leaves the cable TV production studio without adequate cooling. The 78 degree limit across the 47,000 square foot building means a separate independent system must be installed for the studio and control room at an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 dollars, with Hawkeye CableVision likely to pay. Library officials weigh who should cover the remodeling costs while noting the contractor relationship with Hawkeye remains positive. Noel Coward is noted as born in 1899.
