Regis and LaSalle Students Win Honors at Cedar Falls
Regis and LaSalle high school students won high honors at the Brindly invitational forensic tournament in Cedar Falls. Tricia Todd of Regis was a finalist in impromptu speaking and runner up among finalists. Sue McKiernan of LaSalle was a finalist in extemporaneous speaking and finished fourth. Jefferson, Washington and Prairie high schools also competed.

Exile Group Captured by Cuban Force
Havana announced that five Cuban exiles from Miami landed Dec. 2 near Cuba’s north coast. They were seized two days later by armed forces after splitting into two groups. The group was armed with six grenades, weapons, and ammunition and will face revolutionary courts. Two members were linked to Alpha 66 and the Second Front of Escambray. coalition leader Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo was reported captured in Oriente.
