Kenwood Elementary in Cedar Rapids uses roller-skating each December led by Ada Potratz with PTA funding for skates. After three weeks a skate night from 5 to 8 pm this Tuesday will pair with a mini health fair offering blood pressure checks and stress relief activities as part of a broader wellness push supported by a $500 Team Nutrition grant from USDA through Iowa.

A private donation of 650000 from James Kennedy and wife Ellen brings Tipton regional aquatic center fundraising to a crucial milestone. Total private gifts reach about 26 million with a 95000 Vision Iowa CAT grant and a 10000 pledge from Cedar County. Regional Airport Survey Planned for NE Iowa
Residents in Winneshiek and Howard counties will be surveyed on support for a regional airport. McClure Engineering will conduct the two phase study costing about 86000 dollars with 90 percent funded by federal sources. The first phase will run five months and assess Decorah Cresco and nearby counties as potential regional airports or an alternate site.
