Explorers Identify Source of the Amazon River
A five nation expedition with U S Defense Department satellites pinpointed the Amazon source at Nevado Mismi in Peru. The team from the United States Poland Canada Peru and Spain concluded last July and finalized findings this week with five meter accuracy. Expedition leader Andrew Pietowski of Carmel New York announced the result.
