In Little Rock Arkansas a judge allowed Jennings and Mitzi Osborne to illuminate a 600-foot Christmas display after Breezy Osborne flipped a switch. The display had drawn hundreds and prompted six neighbor lawsuits since the late 1980s, now limited to a 15 day window from December 14 to January 6.
The O'Shea triplets at Kennedy High School will graduate next spring. Chris and Tom have appeared in sports with Tom holding class offices. All three were finalists for Homecoming king in Thursday's Gazette.

Iowa experts unveil a well preserved mastodon tibia found near Cedar Rapids by Stanley and Diana Carpenter. The 27 inch, 40 pound bone dates from about 10 to 12 thousand years ago and will be shown in the Iowa Hall glacial exhibit where visitors can touch it. The bone was found near Squaw Creek amid last summer floods and will be publicly unveiled at Macbride Hall.
