Left turn on red OK at some intersections says City Hall
City officials discussed traffic safety at a Tuesday informal council session. State law allows right turns on red after a stop and left turns from one one way street to another after a stop at marked intersections. A three way stop may be added at Hollywood Boulevard NE and Council Street NE to calm speeding and curb jumping. Confusing speed signs on Cottage Grove Avenue near 34th Street SE may be simplified by removing the 40 mph sign. The council may also raise park pavilion rental fees by 50 cents per section per time slot.
