Salvation Army sponsors Cedar Rapids Boy Scout Troop
For the first time in Cedar Rapids the Salvation Army becomes sponsor of a Boy Scout troop. On Wednesday night 28 South Side Cedar Rapids boys were invested as members of Troop No. 11 in a ceremony marking their entry.

Capt W W Kyle spearheads a Salvation Army backed Scout troop in Cedar Rapids with 20 years of experience guiding five troops. Every member wears a self financed uniform costing 10 to 12 dollars, earned through waste paper drives and other projects. Meetings will be at the Salvation Army Citadel recreation room on Third Street SE with Keith Benner praising Kyle’s recruiting efforts. Scoutmaster John Onion leads, Kyle as assistant.
