Flexsteel buys DMI to grow in foreign markets
Flexsteel completes the purchase of DMI gaining its expertise in international markets. DMI imports about 80 percent of its products from Asia and South America. Flexsteel spokesman Tom Baldwin says the acquisition preserves the company niche in custom orders and that production will not move overseas. He notes imports from leather suppliers abroad but delivery and options would be hard to match if production shifted to factories in China or Thailand.
