McGregor Hospital Faces License Loss Threat
A. J. Cords, chair of the McGregor Community Hospital board, warns the landmark facility may close Jan. 1 if its state license is not renewed amid Medicare requirements. The 95 year old three story building on Main Street could lose its status unless funds and plans for an extended care facility or new hospital meet state demands. The hospital, serving nearby towns, operates in the black with about 20 beds and has a small reserve for upgrades.
