Republicans keep leadership as Iowa House and Senate return
Newly elected and returning Republicans in the Iowa House and Senate kept their leadership teams for the 88th General Assembly. House Speaker Linda Upmeyer and Majority Leader Chris Hagenow will lead with Windschitl as speaker pro tempore and Wills as majority whip. Senate leaders Jack Whitver and Chuck Schnei der were reelected to top posts with Behn as pro tempore and Sinclair, Feenstra, Chapman, Brown and Zumbach named assistant majority leaders. They promote a pro growth, fiscally conservative agenda with focus on tax competitiveness workforce development and education while eyeing sports betting legalization.
