Jerry Miller 70 died Dec 8 2014 of cancer at Virginia Gay Hospital Vinton. Mass at 10 30 a m Friday at St Marys Catholic Church Vinton. Visitation 4 7 p m Thursday at Van Steenhouse Russell Vinton and one hour before Mass. Inurnment Bear Creek Cemetery later. Survived by wife Carol daughter Jennifer and grandchildren Tyler Alyssa Michelle. Memorials to Camp Courageous.

Longtime Des Moines Handyman and Postal Leader Dies
Robert J. Buntz 93 of Des Moines died December 7 2014 at Dennis and Donna Olbert Hospice House in Hiawatha. Born January 27 1921 in Des Moines to Andrew and Mary Buntz he lived most of his life there. He married Marjorie Nelson January 12 1941. A WWII veteran he later worked at the Iowa Packing Company and then the U S Postal Service where he rose to lead local carrier unions and national health benefits work. He retired in 1987 and enjoyed hunting fishing and carpentry. He was active with St Joseph’s Catholic Church the Croatian Fraternal Organization and the Five O Club. He is survived by his wife Marjorie son Robert Jr and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation December 12 at Grandview Funeral Home and Mass December 13 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment at Glendale Cemetery. Memorials to St Joseph’s.
