75 year old Sam Turner back in jail after decades
Sam Turner, 75, who vanished from a prison work detail in 1951 after burglary and voluntary manslaughter sentences, was recaptured near Lincolnton Georgia. Authorities used a driver’s license database to locate him as he watched TV in his home. he faces prison again with prior sentences including a 1947 Augusta gunfight and a parole lapse.
