The Y M C A handicraft shop in the basement educates 275 boys aged eight to thirteen in handling power driven and hand tools under supervisors Jerry Heyl and W J Dawson. The program aims to teach safe, patient use of machinery while salvaging wood from fruit crates due to lumber shortages. Open 3:30 to 5:30 weekdays and 8:30 to 12:30 Saturdays, with tomorrow’s expansion planned.
