Ward uses Street View tech for virtual store tours in Iowa
Photographer Forrest Ward is creating virtual tours for Eastern Iowa businesses using Google’s Street View like images. He is one of few Iowa photographers certified for the Business Photos program. Cassill Motors is among the clients. Tours cost a few hundred dollars and appear when customers search the business. Ward photographs in four directions with a wide angle lens and stitches images after sending them to a colleague. the process yields online tours in a few days. The program aims to reduce shopper hesitancy and boost comfort before visits as more local businesses sign up.
