Lennon Shot Outside Dakota. Police Call It Major Murder

Police described John Lennon’s fatal shooting near the Dakota as a landmark case comparable to JFK's assassination. The gunman waited in shadows and fired five times as Lennon and Yoko Ono left the studio, hitting Lennon in the chest arms and back.
