Pair accused in armed robbery at Coralville store
Two Iowa City men Rogelio Escobar-Fernandez 23 and Jose Jordan-Murcia age unknown are charged with first degree robbery after entering Valparaiso Western Wear at 212 First Ave Coralville shortly before midnight displaying a knife and taking money and merchandise. Jordan-Murcia confessed. Bonds set at 50000 cash only. Nearby Cedar Rapids power outage affected 1125 customers after a line fell near Ellis Park and was restored last night.

Bar patron accused of biting employee in Iowa City
A 22 year old Iowa City man Meredyth L. Rice faces an assault charge after allegedly biting a Union Bar employee. Police said Rice refused to leave the 121 E. College St. bar around 12 15 a.m. Sunday and then bit an employee on the shoulder and back during removal. He is held in Johnson County Jail on a 5000 dollar cash only bond.
