Hasek 47 of 612 Eighth Ave SW died when his car hit the end of a steel bridge at the Prairie Creek approach south of Cedar Rapids on highway 218. Investigated by Dr. B L Knight the crash likely due to a blowout or driver fatigue. The single-vehicle collision tied up traffic for about an hour. He was a General Foods salesman. Survivors include his wife Elsie, son John, and his mother Mrs Emma Hasek Cerny. Body at Janeba chapel.
