Bloomington Road bridge demolished after 90 years near Mount Vernon
Linn County officials demolished the 90 year old Bloomington Road bridge over Big Creek to replace it with a 150 foot concrete span. The project cost 592578 dollars versus an estimated 1.25 to 2 million to rehabilitate. Neighbors had urged preservation but the bridge was deemed structurally deficient.
