City to remove 73 trees as flood system plan proceeds
Wilson told council 73 trees will be removed in Time Check and Czech Village as part of the flood-protection project with 121 more possible if athletic fields are built. He noted most trees lie in the right of way and would not survive grading. Council member Monica Vernon urged saving some trees, but colleagues did not back the idea. Replacement trees will be planted after alignment decisions.
