Downtown Bus Depot Returns to Original Lot in Warm Facility
The city restores the depot to its pre 2008 flood site with a permanent facility and new two way traffic on Fourth and Fifth avenues SE to improve bus movement. The $10.5 million project funds include $7.4 million from the FTA and $1.5 million in FEMA disaster aid. The fare changes add Saturday free rides, raise the base fare to $1.50, and offer half price for low income riders. Modular temporary structures are removed for FEMA disposal.
