Nativity set restored after Cedar Rapids flood
The 1950s Armstrong Smulekoff Nativity scene, damaged in the 2008 floods, has been fully restored except for one piece. Volunteers spent over 200 hours repairing statues at Smulekoff's and Laurel Schaerr organized the unveiling at the LDS Church. The final piece, the sheep, was recovered over Thanksgiving weekend and will be shown today and Saturday to the public.
