The Daily Record reports high temperatures around 35 on Thursday with overnight lows near 24 and a 5.56 inch precipitation total. An Iowa extended forecast shows Sunday rain or snow, partial clearing Monday, and another snow chance Tuesday with highs mostly in the upper 30s and 30s to 40s and lows in the 20s.

Ellis J. Burrier, 84, of 1606 Green Avenue NE Cedar Rapids, died Friday after a long illness. A World War I veteran and retired Iowa Manufacturing Co. employee, he was born November 18, 1887 in Farmington. Survived by wife Florence Raines, a daughter in Lisbon, four granddaughters, a great grandson, and two sisters. Glen W. Johnstone 48 of 2333 Rompet Street SE Cedar Rapids died after a brief illness. Born May 4 1923 in Balsam Lake Wisconsin he married Pauline McMurrin July 8 1954 in Cedar Rapids. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 238. Survived by wife five sons two sisters two brothers a half sister and half brother. Service 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Cemetery Turner Chapel East, with viewing until 10 a.m. Monday. Burial Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Casket will not be opened after service.
Mrs. Florence C. Kauffman 93 of 1956 Mt. Vernon road SE Cedar Rapids died Friday after a short illness. Born August 26 1878 near Guttenberg she was married to George J. Kauffman and belonged to the First Congregational church. Surviving are daughter Madeline Kauffman and sister Mrs J C Kickbusch. Services 1 pm Saturday at the Chapel of Memories with Rev J Richard Wagner burial Cedar Memorial. Friends may visit funeral home after 5 pm today and chapel after 9 am Saturday. Heart fund requested.
