Springfield, Mo AP A two place Aeronca plane was stolen from an airport and police believe Cheries McIntosh 24 one of five convicts who escaped from a mental hospital Monday night may have taken it. McIntosh served six years for violation of the Dyer act and reportedly flew the plane from Indiana in 1946. The five fugitives were being sought by police in four states after a Tuesday night raid on a farm family heading toward Arkansas. A flight instructor reported the theft. the plane carried license NC-85858 and had only 20 gallons of fuel. Weather overcast with ceilings 500 to 600 feet. Three men buying shells at Monnett may provide a lead.
