Cedar Rapids to expand housing code inspections next year
A new policy will shift from addressing individual housing complaints to full inspections in Cedar Rapids. The plan, aimed at saving time, prioritizes safety with emergency orders and would require owners to pay a minimum inspection fee only after violations are found. The program seeks to boost department revenue and cover expenses this fiscal year.
