Buffalo awoke to nearly two feet of snow piling up across western New York causing hundreds to shelter in schools and factories. Emergency meals and pizza runs surfaced while South Park High School students and staff remained overnight. The storm also delivered record cold across the Sun Belt with temperatures in the 20s as far south as Jacksonville Florida. At least two deaths were linked to the blizzard.

Juveniles Suspected in C R Robberies
Police detectives believe juveniles were involved in a spree of burglaries on the northwest side Friday night and Saturday. As many as a dozen homes may have been entered but little was taken.
