Milford Myers Jr aged 33 of 1113 Thirteenth Ave SW was found guilty of driving with an obstructed windshield in a fatal October 13 crash that killed Cedar Rapids woman Mrs Edward Penrod 64 on Shaver Road NE near 6th Avenue. Judge Loren Hullinger Jr imposed the maximum $100 fine plus costs. Penrod’s sister Grace Leonard lived nearby at 795 Shaver Rd. NE.
Leon Albert Jones aged 71 of 1815 Third Ave SE, an Army veteran of World War I and 16 year Collins Radio Co. employee, died Monday night after a long illness. Born February 28, 1894 in Edgewood, he married Golda Sprague in Greeley on September 11, 1917. John A Redmond 58 a resident of Cedar Rapids and vicinity died in Dayton Ohio according to his brother C F Redmond. He was traffic manager for News Weeks magazine and survived by his wife Venuti a daughter Eileen Menzer of Chicago a son Jack of Columbus Ohio and a sister Mrs Mary Gaffney of Independence. Services will be held in Chicago Thursday.
