Cedar Rapids Help Portrait event brings holidays to hundreds
Nearly 120 volunteers including studio photographers and editors gather Saturday to photograph and edit images for more than 360 families and individuals in need. The fifth annual Greater Cedar Rapids Area Help Portrait runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Evergreen Estates and UnityPoint Health St Luke's Living Centers West. Free 8 by 10 portraits and a thumb drive of images will be available. The event expands to senior citizens in care facilities and high school seniors for affordable senior pictures. Since 2013, volunteers have photographed over 2,400 individuals with partners across local nonprofits and schools.
