Mediacom keeps KGAN CBS shows through Jan 5 in extension
Sinclair Broadcast Group extends the delay of disconnecting KGAN Channel 2 Cedar Rapids and KDSM Channel 17 Des Moines from Mediacom while negotiating a new three year retransmission pact. The move covers 20 Sinclair stations in 11 states under the extension. Ed Pardini of Mediacom calls it a terrific step for customers.

Army Sgt. James Musack laid to rest in Riverside funeral
About 300 people gathered at Highland High School for the funeral of Army Sgt. James Musack 23 killed in Iraq. Family and friends remembered him as a loving brother and leader. He died from injuries in a non combat incident Nov. 21 near Samarra and the death is under investigation. He received the Army Commendation Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal from his mother Yvette Eastom. Musack’s second Iraq tour was to end today but his funeral extended the plan. He is buried with full military rites at Riverside Public Cemetery near Iowa City.
