A dynamite laden truck caught tire fire near the University of Iowa campus. Driver Mike Nolan of Fremont Nebraska warned bystanders and alerted the Iowa City Fire Department, which quickly extinguished the blaze. The weather bureau foresees light rain possibly mixed with snow across Iowa over the next 24 hours.
