Plane Rams into Capital Bridge in Washington

Friend Ship Sails With 208 Carloads
Philadelphia AP reports the 10,000 ton Friend Ship sails Sunday from Philadelphia loaded with 208 carloads of foodstuffs gathered by the Friendship Train. More than 500 people bid it farewell as it heads to Le Havre to distribute grain and flour to France and Italy, with a New York pickup before the voyage’s final leg. Expected arrival in Le Havre in about two weeks.

Brother saves 4 year old from Marion house fire
Four year old Charles Hotz of Marion was pulled from his flaming bed by his older brother Robert 16 as fire engulfed the Raymond E Hotz home at 160 Twenty second street in Marion. Firefighters faced 1200 feet of hose to reach a hydrant and determine the blaze origin. Both boys escaped injury and the family house was partly insured.
