Heroine stalls runaway train after bomber crash lands near Charlotte

Peggy Parsley an airline worker at Douglas airport acts quickly to avert disaster when a Flying Fortress crashes on Southern Railway tracks in Charlotte North Carolina. She lights a broom torch in a guardhouse and races through rain and fog to guide a speeding passenger train to a stop just inches from the armed aircraft. No injuries reported.
