City to plant 12 sapling varieties after Cedar Rapids sewer work
Arborist Todd Fagan says Cedar Rapids will plant 12 sapling varieties in the area affected by a 2002 multi phase sewer project. Saplings will be planted starting September and again in spring and fall of 2017 to replace mature trees lost for widening Indian Creek sewer lines. Residents recall the canopy loss along Sac and Fox Trail and welcome the planned reforestation.

Wilder collection at Iowa gains eight boxes of Gene Wilder scripts
The University of Iowa houses about eight boxes of Gene Wilder scripts, photos, and documents in its special collections. Professor Samuel Becker and Greg Prickman note the materials cover Wilder's acting, directing, and writing in progress works like the fourth Young Frankenstein version. Wilder's death underscores the value of preserving this legacy for future research and public access.
